The final learning space to consider is outside. There will be several activities that are held outside. Being in nature is unmatched for its impact on learning. Places to consider….your back or side yard or a local park.
If it is your own yard, you could transform a part of the yard for use in pretending in a mud kitchen or create a large space to paint in (much easier clean up than inside). The transformation is something you can work on with your child. Also consider how to store equipment and materials. Possibly using a small shed or trash can storage shed will keep things looking good and out of the weather.
Setting up areas for play or painting will evolve as you discover activities your child enjoys and doesn’t need to be tackled right away.
Also consider the outerwear (coats, hats, gloves, snowpants, boots) that you and your child will need to be comfortable while enjoying the outside. If you take the opportunity prior to the season you need them for to collect warm/waterproof items, your play outside will be so much more enjoyable.
