So you are looking for ways to connect your child to God…Jesus….the Holy Spirit. First it is important to introduce them TO God (which includes Jesus and the Holy Spirit…they are three in one. That’s another lesson coming later but for now this will explain it (Create link to this blog https://www.westwoodnashville.org/blog/god-in-three-persons)
I will be giving you some ways to connect with God and stay connected as well as discover who he is and what does and is still doing for you, me and your child!
God: He is the Father, the Creator and Sustainer of our lives.
Jesus: God’s Son is the Savior of the World. Through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus, God made a way for all people to enjoy heaven with Him forever!
Holy Spirit: This part of God, makes Jesus real in the lives of believers, empowers the Church (group of believers), and creates new spiritual life in us.
As with any relationship, getting to know and appreciate our God takes time and some practice. It will take your child several activities, books and interactions to understand who is God. Here are some suggestions to help you in this exciting journey to faith….
- Start with Prayer. God promises in His Word to hear and answer our prayers. He will guide you and your child in getting to know Him better. Check out my Learning about Jesus blog for ideas on learning how to pray and making you and your child’s prayer life more meaningful….HERE!
- Find a church that has a Children’s Ministry or program. This will not only help you to navigate the Bible with your child but will also help you find other parents who are inspiring their families into a relationship with God.
- Look for children’s books help children understand “God things”. I’ve listed a few below. SOMETIMES you can find them at the library! Click HERE to find an easy way to find and check out books from the library!
